The check-in was very quick and they gave me complementary parking due to me being a Hilton Honor “Gold Member”; anytime I’m in a downtown I expect to pay $12 to $24 per day for parking. I noted at check in they had an adequate business center and a nicely stocked guest pantry. As I walked to my room I loved looking at the black and white pictures of old Mobile. Having historic touches in a newer hotel gives it personality. It was nice to see that this new Hampton was not a cookie cutter little hotel and the black and white pictures was a nice tip of the hat to a city that has over 300 years of history. During my stroll to my room I uncovered another positive sign from the staff everyone smiled and greeted me.
Opening my door to my room I was hit with the smell of clean. Upon entering I found a well-appointed room with a King bed and a sofa. The bathroom had a dressing area outside the tub / toilet area. The color scheme was warm and relaxing. After inspecting I found the room to be clean and well maintained. I called the desk and asked for a foam contoured pillow, you would be surprised at the reply I get to this request at other hotels, but not here. I received a knock on my door 7 minutes later and holding my pillow was a smiling housekeeping who asked if she could place it on my bed and if there was anything else I needed.
That night I when out and next to this hotel is a great little bar called Veet’s. Live music and cheap booze, both a positive form my view point and within walking a distance.
The follow morning I was up early to find a newspaper at my door and a folio under my door. I stumbled downstairs and found a typical Hampton Breakfast and once again smiling faces. I will be staying here again. It is a great value and a great hotel.
